Rage was doing a lot of Countdown episodes the other night and quite naturally, it brings out a lot of 80s nostalgia. They showed a lot of Tears for Fears clips and I felt it would be a crime not to share something that is an anthem for great 80s music.

Doves – Rise
Was listening to old mixtapes/ sets and was reacquainted with this beautiful number. Lovers of ambient drone, click on! And watch out for the harmonica part. So long… So long…
A Strangely Isolated Place – Ulrich Schnauss
His music is filled with influences from everything I’ve ever admired (shoegazer + downtempo electro + samplings). A Letter from Home really transports you into another world and On My Own feels like a cool alien invasion adventure. Like… the aliens didn’t turn out to be that bad and they have their culture to shareContinue reading “A Strangely Isolated Place – Ulrich Schnauss”

Senseless use of sexy, dancing nurses. That is all. Oh, and it’s a great song!
F*ck Buttons

Fuck Buttons is a two-piece experimental group formed in Bristol, England in early 2004 by Andrew Hung and Benjamin John Power. Fuck Buttons –Continue reading “F*ck Buttons”
Deadbeat summer tunes from Neon Indian
I know nothing about Neon Indian other then the fact their/ his sound is a mix of 80s synth pop, video game soundtracks and a tune that provokes a desire to take a really really long roadtrip. I don’t know about you, but these tunes beg for me to call my friends out for goodContinue reading “Deadbeat summer tunes from Neon Indian”
